Transfer advice
Paul Merson is unsure that Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma could be the alternative target for Mykhaylo Mudryk at Arsenal in the coming weeks.
Merson told the Express: "Arsenal need to set Shakhtar Donetsk a deadline with Mykhaylo Mudryk. They've offered ÂŁ62m and it should now be 'take it or leave it' otherwise the January transfer window will soon be over. I'm not sure about Mitoma. You're playing for Brighton at the moment, it's nice. They were beaten 4-2 at home to Arsenal and nobody said a word.
"It's a different game altogether. Arsenal drew at home to Newcastle and it's the end of the world for them at the moment. I don't see how Mitoma would cope with it, it's a big step up. I know Mudryk is coming from Ukraine but he's been playing Champions League football and ripping it up."

Nketiah claim
Former Arsenal midfielder William Gallas has claimed that the Gunners don't need Mykhaylo Mudryk as Eddie Nketiah will be just fine.
He told GentingCasino: "I donât know if Arsenal need Mykhailo Mudryk for the second part of the season. Maybe they do. As I said, the season is very long. But at the same time, Arteta has his squad already, players on the bench, players who can come on and play in that position like Nketiah.
"It's really difficult to get an answer to that question because I'm not there and I don't know what is going down. So if they sign him, they know why. Iâm sure Mudryk is a great player who can help the squad. So if that player can help them to win the title then they should buy him."

Done deal
Arsenal Women have confirmed the exit of midfield icon Jordan Nobbs to Aston Villa during the January transfer window.
Since joining in 2010, Nobbs managed over 270 competitive appearances for the club, winning 12 trophies in that time.
Penning a statement on the official website, she said: "Iâve had the time of my life here, and if youâre reading this, youâve played a massive part in making this journey so special to me. I will always love this football club. Thank you, Arsenal, for everything."

Mudryk claim
Shakhtar Donetsk director Carlo Nicolini told Calciomercato: âNapoli have asked about Mudryk.
"His price? Look at Antonyâs fee. The problem with Italian clubs is that they donât take the chance when they should. Look at Enzo, Milan could have signed him and now heâs worth 100mâ

James Maddison hint
Brendan Rodgers may have dropped a hint over a possible exit for James Maddison at Leicester City in the transfer window.
The England international has been previously linked with the Gunners and when asked about possible exits this January, the manager said: "Itâs getting more difficult. The financial resources, not just in the top six, makes it really difficult. Clubs have multiple injections of finances. We have one owner and one family. Each year it gets tougher. It doesnât soften our ambition to be super competitive.â
Before adding on the window: "There are possibilities [for players to leave]. There are players who may look to play, but teams have to want those players. We have some young players who may need loans. Weâll see.â

Speaking to talkSport, Dein said: âIâm talking to all the FIFA officials, they know where it is at, I have made presentations to them.

"But thatâs just how he is. I am quite used to seeing it now. It doesnât bother me. Hopefully, that wonât work against him simply because the team are doing so well â you donât want to get into that âscandalousâ penalty decision and stuff.â

Vlahovic move?

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: âIâm still told the chances of getting Vlahovic in this window are slim to no chance

Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to hijack Arsenal's move for Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Shakhtar Donetsk winger looks almost certain to secure a move to the Premier League in January after becoming a priority signing by Mikel Arteta's side this month.
However, Todd Boehly could swoop in and sign Mudryk from right under the noses of the Gunners with the latest update revealing a key meeting is set to take place between Shakhtar and Chelsea.

Rabiot contract U-turn
Juventus have sent their latest contract proposal to Adrien Rabiot in the hopes of fending off interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. The midfielder's contract in Italy expires in the summer of 2023 and Juve are pushing to keep him at the club beyond the expiration of his current deal.
Both London clubs and United are eyeing new midfield options, with Chelsea particularly in need of a rebuild in the position, while Arsenal are on the lookout for more depth in the centre of the park, however they may need to look elsewhere if Rabiot chooses to accept Juve's latest proposal.
